8 Beach Getaways to Shake the Winter Blues

With the temperatures falling and the wind howling outside, now is the perfect time to book a beach getaway.  These top beach getaways will offer warm temperatures, blue water, and the ability to get outside and enjoy.

Lahaina, Hawaii

This Maui vacation destination tempts travelers all year long with temperatures that remain in the 80’s.   Lahaina has eight beaches, including the famous Ka’anapali Beach.   It is a pristine beach with seven resorts, restaurants, and activities.  Snorkeling is a must-do while in Lahaina for a chance to see turtles, dolphins, and tropical fish.

Anguilla

The crystal-clear turquoise blue waters, fine sand, and swaying palm trees allow for ultimate relaxation.  Grab your bathing suit and choose from one of Anguilla’s 33 spectacular beaches.  The island also offers many activities for those that are interested in getting out and exploring.    Meads Bay is a spectacular hotel choice for serenity and hospitality.

Carlsbad, California

No passport needed to get to this beach destination.  Those that like to do more than just relax on the beach will enjoy Carlsbad State Beach, which offers something for everyone.  South Carlsbad State Beach is more remote and has campgrounds.  Visitors can enjoy swimming, surfing, fishing, and picnicking.  Carlsbad is a great choice if you are looking for other activities besides the beach.  For families, Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium are in the area.

Palm Beach, Aruba

Boasting perfect 82-degree weather in the winter, Aruba just about guarantees a sunny vacation.  Palm Beach is home to many hotels, restaurants, and casinos so those seeking some nightlife after a relaxing day at the beach will find it here.  With so much to do, and such pleasant locals, there is a reason Aruba is dubbed “One Happy Island”.

Marco Island, Florida

With average temperatures in the mid-70’s, Marco Island is the only developed land in Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands.  The climate and beautiful beaches and water make it a perfect place to spend a few days relaxing.  The island is close to the Florida Everglades and Naples, if you are looking for something other than the beach.  The Marco Beach Ocean Resort provides stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico with a Mediterranean theme.

Lanikai, Hawaii

Another Hawaii destination makes our list.  Located on Oahu, Lanikai Beach is ranked as the best beach on the island, and one of the most beautiful worldwide.  Several miles of calm and safe blue waters are perfect for swimming and kayaking.  Those that are feeling adventurous can kayak all the way to Moku Nui, the island to the left of Lanikai.  Or, get up really early to watch the sunrise.

Grand Isle, Louisiana

A lesser-known destination on the list, this barrier island situated on the Gulf Cost only has about 1600 residents in the winter.  Temperatures are still warm enough to swim and sunbathe in the winter though.  With over 280 species living in the waters around the island, many find snorkeling and fishing in the area to be among the best.  For a really fresh fish sandwich, check out the Starfish Restaurant.

Galveston, Texas

Galveston is a great place to visit in the winter because it is not quite as crowded.  Head to Galveston Island State Park, which has wide beaches that are great for shell-searching or sunbathing.  At night, historic Strand district has been restored with restaurants, antique stores, and galleries.  The Harbor House is the only hotel that overlooks the wharf.

And while you are booking your trip, treat yourself to some new beachwear for your winter vacation.  Cravelyfe has bathing suits, coverups, and accessories to make your winter getaway perfect.
